Shelving & Brackets
At Cutting Edge we are always trying to improve on traditional designs. As a joinery shop we found it impossible to buy high quality, well-designed wooden shelf brackets for our projects so have decided solve that problem and make our own. We have added a little extra touch of joinery to our shelf brackets making them easier to install and keeping the fixings completely hidden.
Materials & Finishes
Natural Oak:
Everyone loves Oak. Even more so when its one single piece with the grain uninterrupted. No block Oak or sections glued together. These are finished using a clear satin Osmo oil to bring out the natural colour of the wood and protect them for years to come.
Natural Ash:
Slightly lighter than Oak but just as durable. This has a wider grain pattern. These are finished with Osmo Oil just like the Oak brackets.
Black Stained Ash:
Black stained furniture is very popular at the moment and now your shelves can match! Being stained and not painted the gran still pops and looks fantastic in our new jet black finish.
Paint yourself:
If colour is your thing then we have you covered. These brackets are primed sanded and ready to paint. These can then be finished yourself, however you wish. We use the same high quality Finsa MDF for these as our cabinets as it gives the best possible paint finish.

How They Work
Simply fasten the backing plates to your wall with the fixings provided. For plasterboard walls you may need to use specific fixings.
Once these are secure, the bracket slides into place using the dovetail key on the back. The more weight applied to this joint, the tighter it gets. With a good wall fixing we have tested these up to 30KG on a single bracket!
Our clever system means no filling of screw holes and allows us to provide you with a beautifully pre-finished bracket.
